Lane7 – The Bullring
Lane7 at The Bullring is the brand’s flagship venue and its largest to date, spread across three floors inside the Bullring shopping centre. The sheer variety is the selling point: boutique ten-pin bowling lanes (up to seven people per lane), private karaoke cabins, augmented darts, shuffleboard, floor curling, beer pong, pool, ping pong, shooting pods and a full retro arcade hall. Drinks are served table-side, so there is no need to leave your lane mid-game.
The headline draw is Playground, the UK’s first immersive gaming experience created in partnership with Moment Factory. Six body-controlled augmented games are projected across a large interactive space, taking inspiration from retro gaming but requiring players to physically move and compete. It sits apart from the main gaming floor and benefits from its own booking slot.
The Game Changer packages let you mix and match activities: bowling is always the anchor, then you add one, two or three secondary games at a fixed per-person rate. The Bowl, Drink, Game bundle folds in a drink for groups of four or more from £18pp. After 7pm the venue becomes over-18s only and the atmosphere shifts accordingly, with a DJ, cocktails and late trading until 1am on weekdays and 2am on weekends.

I went with my friends and it was a cool experience overall. That said, with five of us, the bowling area space felt a bit cramped and there wasn’t much seating available. Also after our game ended, we wanted to take some picture, but we were asked to leave immediately.

my first visit & first time bowling on my works Xmas day of fun , three floors of so many types of games from bowling to arcade games . definitely recommend it & very well run ( plus it has a bar 🍺)

Not bad. Pleasantly surprised with how big this place was. Only got 10mins per person on the playground though so a bit of a rip off. Cost £25.50 total. Not really that worth it but apparently cheaper if you go in larger groups. We were told we initially had 55mins on the playground for 2 of us but that was taken away 2mins into the game. Kind of spoiled the whole experience but never mind. I did still however enjoy the lively atmosphere. It's got that happy busy retro vibe a lot of potential but prices are just high. I can imagine it will get busier and busier as time goes by.

Great venue but weekend queues need work Visited Lane 7 Birmingham on a Saturday and, while the place is fun and staff are great, the queue to register for each game was frustrating and time-consuming — especially for those with bookings. I understand they mention “subject to availability” on their website, but a better system is definitely needed to manage weekend crowds. Also worth noting: under-18s aren’t allowed after 7pm, which feels a bit early for a weekend during school holidays. That said, customer service was excellent — staff listened to our concerns and kindly let us stay until 9pm, which we really appreciated. Overall, a good experience, but some weekend logistics could be improved.
